The contours of the area have never been as clearly defined as during a golden autumn in Meran. The trees are turning red, yellow and orange and the sky is a deep shade of blue. Walks in the mountains are particularly beautiful and invigorating at this time of year. The mood in the region begins to relax and quieten down as the Törggelen season begins – local wine taverns (“Buschenschänke”) invite you to come and sample the new wine along with regional specialities.
Village festivals are dominated by the scent of chestnuts and grape juice. The Grape Festival and the world-renowned Meran Wine Festival bring the summer to a close.
